How We Use Cookies

This Cookie Policy explains how Oregon Certified & Qualified Interpreters' Network Inc. ("OCIN", "we", "us") uses cookies, pixels, and similar technologies on our websites, portals, and digital communications. It works in tandem with our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help us remember your preferences, improve site performance, and understand how visitors use our services. Similar technologies include pixels, local storage objects, and software development kits (SDKs).

2. Types of Cookies We Use

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: Required for security protections such as Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise and for maintaining short-lived form sessions. These cookies are always active because they enable core functions like fraud prevention and delivering one-time success messages.
  • Analytics Cookies: Optional cookies that help us understand how visitors interact with our site so we can improve navigation, content, and accessibility. We use Google Analytics 4 for this purpose.

3. Cookies Placed on Your Device

Google may set additional cookies if you interact with embedded CAPTCHA challenges. We do not currently deploy advertising, remarketing, or social-network tracking cookies.

4. Your Choices

You can adjust browser settings to refuse or delete cookies. If you disable strictly necessary cookies, our forms and security controls may not function properly. To prevent analytics measurement, you can use browser add-ons or adjust your browser's privacy controls to block third-party scripts.

5. Analytics and Third-Party Tools

We use Google Analytics 4 to gather aggregated metrics about site traffic. Data collected may include IP address (truncated and anonymized by Google), device type, browser settings, referring URLs, and on-site interactions. Google processes this data in accordance with its Privacy Policy. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by configuring your browser to block analytics cookies.

6. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers offer Do Not Track (DNT) settings. Because no uniform standard has been adopted, OCIN does not currently respond to DNT signals. We continue to evaluate emerging privacy controls and update our practices as standards evolve.

7. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this policy to reflect new cookies, regulatory changes, or improvements to our consent mechanisms. Updates will be posted here with an updated effective date. Significant changes may be communicated through banners, email notices, or account notifications.
